Sono Figures Society
SONO FIGURES SOCIETY is a Copenhagen based group I founded in 2023 together with German vocalist, puppeteer and puppet maker Sarah Buchner (based in Denmark) and Danish-American textile and costume designer Nat Johns. We met over their shared fascination for contemporary puppet theater and experimental sound, aiming to contribute through cross-disciplinary artistic innovation within the Nordic scene for experimental music and theater.
Aesthetically dedicated towards punk surrealism our work explores different methods to connect sound and puppet – from improvisation, to composed theater, and extended musical composition. The group is on a long term journey to research what different meanings the term sound-puppetry can hold engaging in a from-scratch practice that includes building their own puppets and stage designs. We debuted in Copenhagen with the piece ‘Kumulus Morpho’, showcasing a larger-than-life figure at Bådteatret in Nyhavn April 2023. Later we have performed shows at Koncertkirken in 2024 (DK) and Copenhagen Jazz Festival in 2023 (DK).
Blomsterbed
An artist collective together with composer-performers Guoste Tamulynaite, Elias Nurmi Schomers Astrid Solberg. Blomsterbed was established in 2021 and together we explore notions of composition in the expanded field. We have performed collective compositions and performative happenings at the festival Musik 21 Niedersachsen 2023 (DE) and at Only Connect Festival of Sound in Oslo 2022 (NO).
Errteco
Duo with composer-performer Guoste Tamulynaite working with experimental music theatre and the concept of “composed theatre”. Together we created the chamber opera De vender alltid tilbake in 2020-21, and have later created a duo voice/object performance for VårFEST festival at Sentralen in Oslo 2022, as well as a video work in the project Errteco finner på in the fall of 2022.
The Krumple
I composed original music for the piece MEGAMEGA (2022) created by the theatre company the Krumple. The project is a co-production with Teater Innlandet, and is supported by Norsk Kulturråd - Arts Council Norway, Fund for Sound and Image and SPEDIDAM.
